Some occasions deserve more than a dinner and a toast. They deserve an experience that feels memorable, effortless, and perfectly designed from start to finish.
That is exactly what we created for Cala Homes’ 150th anniversary celebrations. A bespoke day of luxury, travel, and authentic Scottish experiences that brought colleagues and partners together in style.
A Morning to Remember
The day began with a champagne breakfast at Meldrum House, setting the tone for what lay ahead. With the tables set and the atmosphere alive, guests were treated to a relaxed but elevated start, complete with some light-hearted golf challenges on the grounds before the journey continued.
From Rails to Whisky
Next stop: Keith, where our guests boarded the Keith to Dufftown heritage railway for something truly unique. As the train rolled through Speyside, they enjoyed a private whisky tasting curated by Gordon & MacPhail – a moment that combined Scotland’s landscapes with its most iconic export in perfect harmony.
On arrival in Dufftown, the celebrations continued at the Cairn Distillery, where guests were welcomed with lunch and an exclusive behind-the-scenes distillery tour. It was authentic, immersive, and beautifully done.
Craftsmanship and Culture
The afternoon took guests to Johnstons of Elgin, home of Scotland’s world-renowned cashmere. Here, they experienced the mill in action, witnessing craftsmanship at its finest, before pausing for a refreshment break – a moment to reflect and recharge.
An Evening of Flavour and Storytelling
As the day moved into evening, the group arrived at The Station Hotel for a five-course tasting menu. Each dish was paired with carefully selected whiskies, hosted by Stephen Rankin, Keeper of the Quaich and Director of Prestige at Gordon & MacPhail. His storytelling, combined with the pairings, created an atmosphere that was both celebratory and deeply Scottish.
To close the evening, every guest was chauffeured home by a personal taxi – a final detail that ensured the experience was seamless from start to finish.
