After being picked up in one of our luxury vehicles, we are heading to the Benromach Distillery for a whisky experience which includes a personalised tour and tasting. Found in the Royal Burgh of Forres, discover first hand the craftmanship involved in creating this award winning single malt.
Benromach keep things simple. A handful of distillers relying entirely on their expertise and senses to make the finest handmade whisky; Speyside single malt matured exclusively in first-fill casks, with a subtly smoky character. It takes just four ingredients – barley, water, yeast and a human touch.
All of Benromach’s casks are hand-filled, individually weighed, stenciled by hand and stowed in Benromach’s traditional dunnage warehouses. Why? Because at Benromach they believe making whisky by hand guarantees genuine character.

Since 1895, Gordon & MacPhail has been trusted with new-make spirit from over 100 Scottish distilleries. Developing these long-standing relationships is as important to them today as it was a century ago.
Each distillery produces a unique spirit, created using three simple ingredients: malted barley, water and yeast. The spirit’s characteristics are determined by many factors such as the dimensions and design of the copper stills, and of course the oak cask that nurtures the spirit during maturation.

With the morning complete, it’s time to stop for lunch at the excellent Station Hotel in Rothes. Renovated in 2015 for a grand reopening in 2016, this once bustling hotel for the rich and well-to-do has been restored back to its heritage with a contemporary twist. Enjoy a two course lunch in the hotel’s Pagodas Restaurant where you will find great quality, locally sourced, simple food from Scottish lands and shores.
The Station Hotel has a rich history as part of the Rothes community stretching back more than a century and is the perfect location for a spot of lunch between distilleries. Stocking more than 500 whiskies themselves, you can be sure to find a rare or limited release whisky before continuing on your experience.

The final stop on your journey is to Glenfarclas, a distillery spanning five generations of the same family for over 150 years. Experience a personalised tour and tasting and discover not only the magic of malt whisky production and maturation, but the unique history of the family owned distillery, sampling family favourites along the way.
To this day, Glenfarclas is one of only a few distilleries in Scotland to remain family owned and managed. Now in the hands of the fifth generation of the family, the Grants remain committed to the vision of creating the best quality Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, in the traditional Speyside style.
The distinctive end product is the result of the family’s 150 year experience and the insistence on using traditional distillation methods to produce a time-honoured quality spirit.
