Our tour of Royal Deeside began with a visit to the stunning Craigievar Castle, a fairytale-like castle nestled in the heart of Aberdeenshire. As we explored the castle’s historic rooms and marvelled at the intricate plasterwork and painted ceilings, we couldn’t help but be enchanted by the castle’s romantic atmosphere and rich history.
Next, we made our way to the Royal Lochnagar Distillery, located in the beautiful Cairngorms National Park. Here, we discovered the secrets of the whisky-making process and learned about the history of this iconic Scottish beverage. We sampled some of the finest whiskies, and the rich and complex flavours lingered on our taste buds long after we had left.
After indulging in the world-renowned whisky, we headed to the majestic Crathes Castle, a 16th-century tower house surrounded by stunning gardens and woodlands.
As we walked through the castle’s grand halls, admiring the impressive collection of antique furniture and paintings, we were transported back in time to an era of nobility and grandeur. We then explored the castle’s immaculate gardens, filled with vibrant colours and scents.
As the day came to a close, we reflected on the unforgettable experiences we had in Royal Deeside. From the enchanting Craigievar Castle to the delectable whisky of the Royal Lochnagar Distillery and the majestic Crathes Castle, we had truly experienced the best of Scotland’s rich heritage and natural beauty. We left feeling grateful for the opportunity to explore such a remarkable part of the world.
